Hands for Purpose
Hands for Purpose is a declaration: “My hands were created with purpose — not for begging, but for building.”
Hands for Purpose is a transformative initiative under the Hilda Chisi Foundation, created to inspire and equip single mothers to build sustainable livelihoods — not through handouts, but through the work of their own hands.
Inspired by Hilda Chisi’s core belief that “every woman has God-given potential to provide and prosper”, this project moves beyond charity and into empowerment. We don't give temporary aid — we give tools, training, and encouragement so women can stand tall, earn with dignity, and care for their families independently.
We believe that dignity comes from the ability to create, earn, and provide.

Hands for Purpose – My Hands Were Created with Purpose, Not for Begging, but for Building
Across Malawi and beyond, countless single mothers wake up every day facing the crushing weight of poverty and the stigma of dependency. Many have the will, the ideas, and the strength to provide for their families, but lack the tools, training, and support to turn their determination into income. Hands for Purpose is our answer to this injustice.
This initiative declares to the world: “My hands were created with purpose — not for begging, but for building.” We equip single mothers with the practical resources they need—sewing machines, agricultural inputs, artisan tools, business training—and connect them to markets where their skills can generate sustainable income. We focus on empowerment, not handouts, because we believe that dignity comes from the ability to create, earn, and provide.
Through Hands for Purpose, women discover their potential, rebuild their confidence, and become role models in their communities. When a mother gains financial independence, she not only lifts herself out of poverty—she changes the trajectory of her children’s lives and inspires an entire generation to believe in the power of their own hands.
