Be the answer to a desperate cry of a girl, "I can"

Empowering Girls to Overcome the Odds
IKAN (I Can) –
Across many communities, countless girls face barriers that threaten their right to education—poverty, early marriage, and harmful cultural practices. IKAN—short for I Can—is the Hilda Chisi Foundation’s flagship initiative, born from Hilda’s vision that every girl should have the freedom and support to pursue her dreams.
Through school sponsorships, provision of learning materials, mentorship programmes, and community awareness campaigns, IKAN empowers girls to stay in school, achieve academic success, and break cycles of poverty. The project also works with families and local leaders to challenge traditions that hinder girls’ progress, fostering a supportive environment where education is valued for all children.
IKAN is more than a project - it is a movement of hope, resilience, and transformation. It is the voice of every determined girl declaring, “I can.” With your support, we can help turn those words into reality—creating generations of educated, empowered women who will change their communities for the better.
HELP CHANGE A GIRL'S LIFE TODAY

"I Can – Because Every Girl Deserves the Chance."
Every girl is born with potential—dreams to chase, talents to nurture, and a future to shape. Yet, for millions around the world, those dreams are silenced far too soon. Poverty, early and forced marriages, cultural barriers, and a lack of resources push many young girls out of school before they can even begin to realise their capabilities.
IKAN—short for I Can—is the Hilda Chisi Foundation’s answer to this injustice. It is not just an educational programme; it is a lifeline for girls determined to rise above the odds. We provide school sponsorships, essential learning materials, mentorship, and life-skills training. We work with families and communities to break down harmful traditions and build a culture where girls’ education is valued, protected, and celebrated.
When you support IKAN, you are not just helping one girl go to school—you are helping to rewrite her life story. An educated girl is more likely to delay marriage, earn a decent income, and raise healthy, educated children of her own. This is not charity; this is transformation.
Join us in standing with every girl who dares to say, “I can.” Because when she can, we all can.
